For Children
Martial arts are a terrific way for children to learn focus, discipline, and respect, all while dramatically improving their self-confidence. Y.K. Kim's Taekwondo Research Institute offers classes especially for young children, as well as regular classes for older children throughout the day. With the help of additional instructors, these classes give children extra attention to help them learn Taekwondo in a way that teaches them skills to become better students in school, better behaved children at home, and ultimately terrific martial artists!

For Women
Women often begin martial arts training for reasons that are different than men. They are typically looking for self-defense techniques to help keep themselves safe. We offer this training in a non-threatening and supportive environment. Through our combination of Taekwondo and Hapkido training, women will feel safer and more confident after only a few classes.

For Families
Martial arts is more than just kicking and punching. It is a way of life. And the best way to live a martial arts life is with the entire family. Training as a family allows you to share something very special with your children and/or parents. We know how important it is for families to be together, so we offer special family classes that even allow you to train together, regardless of age. Not only will you have automatic training partners, but you will also have people in your household who understand where your newly found self-confidence comes from - and they will have it as well.

TAEKWONDO

Taekwondo is a Korean unarmed martial art. It is not only kicking and punching, it is a way of thinking and living. The main goal of Taekwondo is to achieve total mind and body control through proper training.

It is a popular sport throughout the world, but it has much more to offer than entertainment and physical fitness. Taekwondo contains a philosophy, a code of ethics, a set of values that can literally be called a way of life.

HAPKIDO

Hapkido is also a Korean Martial art. In contrast, Hapkido explores the uses of circular motions, non resistance, and the coordination of an opponent's energy using minimal force. This art has many joint locking and pressure point techniques.
